Technical Coordinator, Glen Street Theatre

GST-logo$48,404 – $63,966 + Super

Permanent, Full-time 70 hours per fortnight

(9 day fortnight, subject to operational requirements)

The Role

Glen Street Theatre is a proud initiative of Warringah Council and an industry leader on Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches, presenting an annual season of professional theatre productions including an annual Main Stage Season, Kids Play – family and children programming stream, Music at the Glen, Literary Lunches and a range of other commercial theatre and music related events.

Reporting to the Technical Manager this role will supervise and operate the technical facilities and resources of the Venue to ensure the highest possible standard of presentation to the public, hirers and participants through assisting both professional and community hirers and users to mount a variety of entertainment.

Essential Criteria:

Thorough technical knowledge and experience in the presentation and range of performance styles and formats including theatre, cabaret, music and corporate events
Thorough knowledge of stagecraft lighting, sound, flying, rigging and basic stage management procedures
Demonstrable experience working with non-professional and community based performance groups and evidence of the ability to maintain a constructive on-going dialogue with these groups
Ability to draw, read and interpret technical plans and specifications
Well-developed computer skills, especially Word, Excel and CAD software applications, together with experience in digital technologies and audio visual applications
Understanding and commitment to risk management procedures both internal for visiting companies and venue users; including safety inductions
