Theatre Technician / Hall Manager

Role: The management of the School’s main halls, with the possibility of future oversight over several other smaller meeting venues on the campus.
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Hours: Full time position with 37.5 hours worked on a flexible basis dependent on activities scheduled in any give week. 2 month contract role with possibility of ongoing employment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
? Maintain the lighting and sound equipment in the hall
? Ensure the stage area is safe for all users
? Regularly check and arrange maintenance and repairs on the flying system
? Assist, in a technical capacity, with all those using the hall facilities
? Set-up and bump in sound and lighting required for assemblies; information nights; presentations; plays; concerts etc.
? Assist staff and students in understanding and using equipment in the MGH.
? Liaise with Facilities Manager for serious maintenance, and for the purchasing of consumable items.
? Regular contact with cleaning staff as to areas of concern in the hall.
? Co-ordinate and prioritise the various demands of the hall users.
? An opportunity to coordinate the movements of, and where possible to work with, the theatre production crew in set construction.
