Qualified Electrician, Sovereign Hill (POSITION FILLED)

Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history.

Our Technical Services team is responsible for electrical works across all our sites as well as the technical aspects of our specialist exhibits including Blood on the Southern Cross (BOSC) sound and light show, Quartz Mine, Secret Chamber, Trapped, Red Hill Mine, Woah Hawp canton, Chinese Village, and VTD displays. As the show must go on 364 days of the year, this position will include regular on-call weekend and occasional evening work.

Our qualified electrician’s provide specialist electrical support throughout the organization and work as part of the technical services team in the technical aspects (specifically, electrical aspects) of our specialist aspects ensuring all displays are operating correctly to required standards. Specialist electrical support to all general areas of Sovereign Hill Museum and Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill is also provided by electricians.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified electrician, with at least 2 years’ experience (preferably including AV) or a recently qualified electrician with AV experience, to assist our Technical Services Team in providing electrical support across multiple sites including Narmbool, the Gold Museum and Sovereign Hill. You will have initiative and drive combined with fault finding and problem solving skills.
