MMX Blades & Pointes for David Guetta

French DJ mega star David Guetta visited Tasmania for the first time for one of the biggest shows that the island has ever seen.

“I always just think of making people dance, that’s my first priority”, says David Guetta and that is exactly what he delivered during his spectacular show in Hobart. He expressed such enthusiasm and energy with his sets that crowds just couldn’t help dancing into the night.

Tasmania’s biggest AV production company Alive Technologies Group were behind the lighting and visual production of the show staged at Hobart’s Derwent Entertainment Centre. They recently added to their extensive inventory of Robe rental gear 8 new Robin MMX Blades and 8 Robin Pointes, which were used straight after they arrived on David Guetta’s show. David Bell, MD of Alive Technologies Group, comments: “Everyone involved was really impressed and surprised at the output intensity and speed of the new fixtures.”

The full lighting rig for Guetta’s show included 36x Robin 100 LEDBeams, 24x Robin 600 LEDWashes, 12x Robin Pointes, 8x Robin MMX Blades, 10x ColorSpot 700E ATs, 8x Robin 300E Spots, 2x Robe Haze 400FT, Litecraft Power Distros & DMX Splitters. The video effects were delivered on VuePix P18 mesh screen.

The support acts featured Will Sparks and The Twins.

“While Guetta’s remixes were impressive, the lights were what made the show!” says one of the reviews. The fact is that Guetta “armed with the biggest and most impressive sound and lighting rig to hit Tasmanian shores” immersed the crowds into the tunes of his greatest hits. He closed his performance with one of his current biggest hits ‘Play Hard’ to rounds of applause and yells of encores after the enormous two hour set.
