Andy has been involved in lighting and entertainment technology for nearly four decades; as a practitioner, teacher, consultant and writer.
After starting his career in live theatre, he also worked in broadcast television as a Lighting Director and Lighting Supervisor. He taught lighting for over twenty years, running Australia's only specialist lighting training course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts for its first fifteen years. Andy was a pioneer in the adoption of Computer Aided Design and Drafting for lighting, developing specialist lighting applications for minicomputers and later personal computers. For the past decade he has also been a freelance writer on lighting, audio and entertainment technology.
