Following the immense popularity of their latest ‘Hands All Over’ album, funk-pop gods Maroon 5 returned to Australia for a series of arena shows in May 2011.
Lighting designer William Sheldon used 31 Robin 600 LEDWashes to create great visual effects for their energetic show during concerts in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. “The Robins were used around the stage on 5 vertical towers upstage where they provided a very nice, warm light.” “I’m very impressed by them. They’re reliable, compact and have a great rich colour spectrum”, says William.
The show was operated from Avolites Pearl Expert Console.
The 60×40 foot stage structure and all lighting equipment was supplied by rental company Phaseshift Productions. The crew were praised once again for their hard work with tour manager Alan Hornall stating “I was really impressed and I will be recommending Phaseshift as my preferred lighting vendor in Australia from here on in.”
Maroon 5 was also joined by Grammy nominated artist Sara Bareilles, who captivated audiences with her impressive vocals, charming piano and guitar accompaniments and heartfelt lyrics. Rounding up the bill was Australian singer-songwriter Ry Cuming.
The portion of the proceeds from the merchandise sales at the show in Brisbane were donated to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
