light+design magazine – coming soon

light+design

Light+Design, the lighting industry’s newest and brightest, publication is coming soon.

Light+Design is an independent and thoughtful print magazine for the whole lighting industry, delivered by an editorial team experienced in, and very passionate about, lighting. We’ve been in the business of technology publishing for a long time and are excited to finally have the opportunity to produce a quality Australian publication for those who share our interests and excitement about lighting and its impact on the way we work, play and think.

Light+Design covers the full spectrum of Lighting: design, technologies, control and management. It brings together all of the disciplines and technologies involved in the lighting process, from design concept to long-term operation and maintenance. Its content focuses on light sources, luminaires, power and control systems and lighting design by looking at the technologies, tools and practices underlying lighting.

Whether you light a single outback dunny, an airport, a museum exhibit, a studio, a warehouse, a dance work, the exterior of an office tower, a lecture theatre, or a few kilometres of river for a festival, we’re interested in what you do, the tools you use, how you do it, and how we can help you to do it more easily.

We’ll look at light source technologies; optics and photometrics; legislation and regulation; design aesthetics; dimming; software for control, scheduling and visualisation; energy monitoring and management; colour media and mixing systems; education and training; the OH&S implications of hardware selection; and every other aspect of what it means to work with light and lighting.
