As we all know too well, very rarely are do any corporate venues have a black ceiling. Most times we will find a white or an “egg shell white” (seems to be the trendy new term) ceiling to hang our lovely black fixtures from. I’m sure the person who decided all lights should be black had some very valid reasons for doing so; however I think we have all stood back after a small but tedious venue setup and thought how ugly the black fixtures look.
It is not until recently that there has been a good solution to this problem. Who would have thought that making a white lighting fixture would actually be a good idea? Well it seems to be. Venues all over Australia are taking to these new additions to the lighting world with open arms. White profile s and Fresnels are moving in in a big way. Finally the lighting technicians are not left to explain to the client why these big black ugly things have now ruined the lovely “look and feel” of the room. It is the one of the few lighting products that Venue Event Sales people actually understand and embrace. It also brings back the somewhat lost art of “Theatre Craft”. If you haven’t had a chance to get your hands on these yet, there is no time like the present.
