| The
humble light emitting diode, or LED, is rapidly gaining a foothold
in both the entertainment and architectural lighting market. With
the advent of super high-brightness LEDs and developments in the drive
electronics, the last few years has seen great progress in the use
of the humble LED.
The technology
has found its way into the architectural lighting markets and now
also the entertainment sector. The benefits of long lamp-life, rich
colours, small size and low heat are all greatly beneficial in such
situations.
LEDs are very much here to stay, and will more than likely be playing
a large part in the illumination technology of the future. As the
technology develops, the prices will drop still further and products
will become much more competitive.
If you want to see the latest developments in LED products don't
miss the Sydney premiere event 'ALIA LED Technology Expo' which
is being held next week at 8pm in Sydney Theatre Company's Big Rehearsal
Room, Pier 4 Hickson, Road, Walsh Bay.
Australia's leading manufacturers and distributors of LED lighting
technology will be displaying the latest products including ranges
from James Thomas Engineering Pixel Range, Osram, Pulsar, AVR, Griven,
Mood-Light and Space Cannon LED effects lights.
If you plan to attend this event please RSVP to Cat Strom on cat@alia.com.au.
Whilst it is not essential to RSVP, you can just turn up on the
night, it would be appreciated.
