Sydney’s Showtime Productions are the latest proud owners of a Martin M1 console, the most powerful and affordable full-featured lighting console on the market as well as four Martin MAC301 LED wash lights.
Showtime’s Arian Yeganeh was the first to use the Martin M1 console on a gig at Luna Park’s Big Top and he was left in awe at its performance.
“I haven’t as yet explored all about the console but from what I’ve seen it is extremely powerful,” he noted. “Yet it’s also very compact. The effects engines are great and easy to use. You can get a show up and running very quickly. There’s no messing around to get something decent out of it straightaway.
“I particularly liked the colour-matching feature which was useful for that show as I had Martin MAC301 LED wash lights as well as MAC700’s, MAC500’s and another brand of moving lights. The M1 ensured that the colours from all fixtures were well matched and that was quite handy.”
Showtime has been so impressed by the MAC301 LED washlights they are planning to purchase quite a few more.
“The good thing about the MAC301’s is that you can use them effectively on a day gig like a festival,” commented Arian. “The fact that you can see the LEDs turning on and off makes the fixtures part of the show. They’re really fast, bright and get used on pretty much everything we do. Plus all the people who hire off us know the Martin brand and consequently know they are getting a decent product.”
