I would like to see this thread (or ones similar) continue with information from anyone regarding current shows that might get posted on the main site.
In regards to the press release currently posted on the recent Tom and John tour I just thought I'd add in some additional things I know were on the show.
There was also a large assortment of VL6Cs and VL5s dominating the back of the stage to great effect in addition to the macs. I know the trusses were also lit with cans and scrollers and control was via 2 hog IIs and Catalyst was doing the video.

I'm surprised to hear Chris say he did the entire show as I assumed the Op. for the first half must have been out with Tom... I guess not.

Hi Clint,

From the WYSIWYG work I did for Chris on Tom + John, The tour had 18 x VL6cs and 24 x VL5's spead evenly on 6 vertical trusses at the rear of the stage.

I can't wait to read the press release Show Technology does for the Cher tour where they proudly announce that the tour had 4 x color pro's & 2 x Qfx 150 fibre drivers and no mention of the 100 or so moving lights (not distributed by Show technology).

I know it is easy to "have a go" at the distrutors like Show Technology for their press releases. It would be good in the future (and particularly on shows which gets an ALIA tour group through) that someone from the ALIA tour writes a short report on what equipment was used and other insights they gained

Cheers,

Richard Grenfell

You will be happy to know Richard that this is something we are trying to get happening as we speak as discussed at length at the last committee meeting.

Do you know who the other lighting guy for Tom Jones was?

Hi Cat,

How can I possibly refuse an offer like that. If I'm not working I would be pleased too.

Cheers

Richard
