This is from Lightnetwork, by Ola Melzig

Well........... The IDIOTS from the local generator company blew up close to 400 moving lights thanks to their nice peaks in the system and PRG spend many days and nights getting everything up and running again. And they actually managed to get most of the gear in shape for the show, but we were forced to cut out some lights here and there since we were simply running out of spares and spare parts.

Here is what we were supposed to use:

458 xMac 2K Wash XB
148x Mac 2K Wash
144x Alphaspot 1500
44 x Alphabeam 1500
24x Alphabeam 300
106x Bad Boys
44xBiglite
96x Space Cannon 7K
44x GLP Impressions
8x Rj Lancelot
8xLycian 4K

In total we had 6 GrandMA Consoles; 5 Fullsize consoles (3 active, 2 Backup) and one GrandMA ultralight as Focus-Console and for service tasks during the show.
We were running two sessions; one for all the spots and the alphabeams and impressions (programmed by Marc Brunkhardt) and the Spacecannons, Biglites and about 800 Stadium LED Fixtures (which where lighting up the roof). I programmed the Spacecannons, Biglites (actually used for frontlighting) and Stadium LED fixtures (which will be programmed by Thomas Giegerich for the closing).
A second session for all the Washlights, programmed by Martin Rupprecht.

The reason to use two session was simply, that we had too much NSPs and 2 PortNodes Pro for running them all in one session.

The Network was completely distributed via fiber cables and HP Switches, which Christian Blaschke and Alex Schmidt of PRG built a nice redundant ring with. All in all I think we had something around 62 or so DMX Universes in the System and have not had any network troubles.

At showday, the spot-showfile had something around 33 MB uncompressed; and the wash file had 25 MB or so...

Jerry Appelt is the LD
Accosiate LD Matthias Hagel
Operators:
Denis Hessberger
Marc Brunkhardt
Martin Pupprecht
Thomas Giegerich

All great managed by Johannes Wahl who is the PRG Project Manager on this show.

All video was done by Creative Technology using 32x Barco R22's through a watch out set up.

And to continue down the road, Howard& Sons did the pyro, Norwest did the sound, Best Audio designed the Intercom, Riedel supplied it and K-Events supplied the big balloon together with Robbie Williams.

A great gang with MANY stories to tell!
