For those not able to make it to Integrate, what did the people who did go think were the highlights.

I was most impressed with the bumpout of the ALIA stand at the end of Integrate. The bumpout crew featured lighting designers, senior company executives and even some techs. A good example of cross industry cooperation. _________________ Lighting Designer and manufacturer of Theatre Electronics |

Thanks very much to the consultants, sales executives, managing directors, lighting designers and the single tech who participated in the amazing high speed bump out of the ALIA stand on Thursday night. It's really scary to think how much that half-hour bump out would cost if those people decided to bill us for their time.
Thanks also to all the Mandies from Mandylights who helped with the bump in on Sunday morning and to Zac for programming the Clarity.
Mike Gearin production managed the set up.
Stand equipment supply/loan credits include:
Truss and rigging gear - Design Quintessence
Drapes - Staging Rentals
Color Blast luminaires - Philips Lighting
Honeycomb luminaires - Resolution X
Monolith (lightbox) - Resolution X
Clarity console - LSC
Cables - Bytecraft
Transport kindly provided by Massteknik (now Mediatec) and HME (Harris Movement Engineering). _________________ Andy Ciddor |

Especially with a minimum 3 hour or so call. _________________ Lyndon |

It was for me!
That's because the Integrate week was very long and hard one - with setting up the ALIA stand, running seminars for both ALIA and Integrate, having the first AV Industry Awards and catching up with people on a whole bunch of AV industry stands.
Five of the six ALIA seminars were sold out (Meet the LDs was held in a 100+ seat venue). The consensus amongst those of us who hosted the three Lighting 101 sessions (Scott Allen, Tim Hall and I) is that they were very well received and that they deserve to be run again at subsequent trade shows.
The two lighting design seminars (Meet the LDs and Video as a Lighting Design Tool ) went down a treat and the session on Testing & Tagging in the Real World was seen as useful and informative by the full house in the seminar room.
There wasn't a lot of lighting gear at the show, but there was a lot of video: particularly screen modules, flat panels and projectors, and a lot of control, signal processing, routing and image blending gear.
There was also a lot of 3D present in the form of screens and projection, but still not much material to watch on them other than silly WOW 3D!! demos and clips from about three animated 3D movies. _________________ Andy Ciddor |

Aside from the ALIA stand , and sorry I missed you Andy, I was impressed with the new line of Liftket chainmotors on the Pollards stand.
Very quiet, small and standard with double brakes! You have to love the smart German engineering on the things. _________________ Think it is too expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur |
