Does the name Rafael Lozano-Hemmer ring a bell.

He is the Lighting designer/ Artist that has done numerous large scale lighting installations around the world. The one most people might be aware of is the project where is places a heaps of searchlights around a public square and they are controlled by the public by a web based interface. The last incarnation of this was seen at he last winter olympics.

He is in melbourne premiering his new work as part of the "Light in Winter Festival" at Fed Square In melbourne

This Saturday 1.30 pm he is giving a talk about his work and thoughts on light.
