Sisti Caravaggio 2kW tungsten Par lampsA new concept in Par fixtures using a 2kW tungsten lamp, ideal where you require an intense beam of light and a very long throw, but are restricted with power availability. Other possible uses are theatre, architectural, exhibitions, and exterior applications. The units output without any lenses can be compared in output to a 10kW fresnel in spot mode. With the addition of the standard lens set normally supplied with De Sisti's 2.5/4kW discharge par a wide range of beams can be achieved to suit your particular requirements. The unit can be supplied in 2 versions (location and fixed installation) and is finding its way into many projects in Europe since its release (144 are currently being installed for permanent lighting in a stadium in France). www.desisti.it Australian Distributor: Coemar De Sisti www.cdaust.com.au |

Cannon's MetamorphosisThe long experience made through the years by Space Cannon vH Researches and Development Department have produced a brand new, revolutionary beam of light: the Metamorphosis. These fixtures find themselves placed amongst a wide range of products recently proliferated, not just in the aim of answering in a spectacular, economical and ecological way to the needs and wishes of the customers but also to get deeper and deeper involved in the research of new and alternative light sources, radically changing the world of illumination. Born to the joint venture between Space Cannon vH and "Luxeon" technology, leader mark in the high luminous intensity LED production, the Metamorphosis fixtures represents, at the present day, a new type of projector designed to satisfy any kind of request for both indoor and outdoor lighting applications. The high luminous intensity LED, joined and applied to the Space Cannon technology, guarantees the full control in the colours production, mixing up the four channels Blue, Red, Green, and Amber, by which it is possible to get the whole chromatic scale. The passage from one colour to another is immediate and never deranged by intermediate nuances. Moreover, it is possible to dim, strobe and shut the light beam, and there is also the chance of modifying the colour temperature, through the Amber channel, which warms up or cools the chosen shade. Being that the LED average life span is much longer than any other artificial light source on market so far (around 100.000 working hours) it is easy to understand the importance and all the advantages, mostly economical, of such technology. If, on the one hand, the reduction of the up-keeping costs is real evidence, on the other it should be pointed out that it's created in the full respect of the environment, being completely recyclable, completely devoid of mercury parts and therefore non-polluting. The high engineering level has brought to the creation of a product very high in technology, cast on one whole block, including an innovating system for the heat dissipation, working very silently, discharging most of the heat inside the fixture itself. A Dip Switch integrated into the product allows you to assign to each fixture a different DMX channel, included between 1 and 512. Where necessary, it is also possible to change the photometrics by a special kit of symmetrical and asymmetrical lenses (upon request) to get a sharp control of the beam. Thanks to all these features, the Metamorphosis is perfect for any lighting indoor or outdoor application, such as shops windows, museums, galleries, exhibitions, fair booths, shopping centres, TV studios, theatres and so on, always being sure to have a very high performing product, reliable, precise and noiseless. www.spacecannon.com Australian Distributor: Coemar De Sisti www.cdaust.com.au |

Martin's
Mania EF-1 DJ effectWith its new Mania series of inexpensive DJ lights that will eventually include effect lights, colour changers, strobe lights, deco effects, scanners, promotional lights, smoke machines and more, Martin Professional is going head to head with the established manufacturers of DJ lighting. The first in the series, Mania EF-1, is a dynamic flower effect featuring 6 coloured patterns -useful as revolving dance floor motifs, wall projections or flying mid-air effects. The effect can be either sound triggered, moving to the beat of the music, or automatic, performing its own program independently. While other lights fall foul to heat exhaustion, the Mania "cool" concept centres on Mania's ability to remain comfortably cool all night long. Simply put, Mania has no duty cycle, meaning you don't need to shut it down and wait for it to cool off before it's ready to go again. Mania comes in a durable yet stylish symmetrical housing complete with hanging bracket that also serves as a carrying handle. Attractive to the eye, trendy graphics complete the cool look of the fixture. The Mania series capitalizes on several of Martin's strengths. First, Martin Professional's considerable experience and reputation in the high tech, professional lighting market allows it to inject technology derived from the stage into a DJ package. Although Mania is a relatively simple back-to-basics DJ series, the company can provide something new and unexpected from its higher end professional gear such as Mania Liquid and Mania Fire animation effects, to be included on upcoming deco products. Secondly, Martin has the ability to manufacture more cheaply while remaining loyal to the Martin ethos of providing innovation and quality, at an affordable price. www.martin.com Australian Distributor: Show Technology www.showtech.com.au |

Hurricane goes down a storm at PLASA Columbus McKinnon displayed more new products at this year's PLASA exhibition than ever before. Recent optional upgrades to the ever-popular Lodestar electric chain hoist were being displayed for the first time. These include a double brake, which is available as either factory-fitted on new units or as a retrofit kit for existing owners. A direct control Lodestar, which has proven extremely popular since its launch earlier this year will also be available for inspection. A CM manufactured variable speed Lodestar hoist, dubbed the Varistar will also be making its worldwide debut. This will be shown alongside a sample of the company's new BGV-C1 specification Lodestar hoist. "Although Lodestars with these features are already available they are conversions of standard units made by end-users or our distributors" comments Adrian Forbes-Black, CM's regional manager for Europe. "Now we are enabling these same people to purchase the exact specification they need from CM, rather than having to go to the expense and hassle of modifying the standard hoist themselves." CM has also announced that its 236kg s.w.l. Prostar hoist will be upgraded to 250kg s.w.l. later this year. Probably the most radical product introduced was also the simplest: CM showed 500kg, 1000kg and 2000kg s.w.l. versions of its new Hurricane inverted manual chain hoist. Forbes-Black explains: "At the moment in the entertainment industry, if people have a simple lifting problem, like conference work for example, then they either have to use the relatively expensive and complicated solution of an electric chain hoist or they have to try and use a manual chain hoist designed for industrial applications. We are therefore excited to show the Hurricane which we believe is the world's first manual chain hoist designed for use in the entertainment industry." The Hurricane can be used inverted in a similar vein to the Prostar and Lodestar electric chain hoists. This is achieved through a radical chain guiding system and a unique 360° rotating hand chain cover which allows the hand chain which powers the hoist to be used in any position relative to the body of the unit. Alongside these new products, CM also promoted its range of forged products including a new range of alloy bow shackles aimed at the European entertainment market. www.cmrigging.com |

SharXSUniform dimensions, a short arc and extreme Seal (XS) technology are the key features of the five modular SharXS HTI lamps from Osram. All these lamps are exceptionally bright, operate efficiently and can withstand greater thermal stress than conventional types. With wattages of 200, 400, 575, 700 and 1200 W, the new familiy of lamps cover all the usual classes needed for effect lighting and entertainment. The double-ended metal halide lamps have been designed as modular components for modular luminaire design and are therefore setting new standards. Trendsetters in a uniform size. Uniform dimensions, a short arc and extreme Seal (XS) technology are the key features of the five modular SharXS HTI lamps from Osram. This family of double-ended metal halide lamps has been designed as modular components for modular luminaire design and are therefore setting new standards. Luminaire manufacturers can now react faster to market requirements. The modular design of these lamps makes life easier for luminaire manufacturers. They can now react faster to market requirements because basically all they have to do for each of the wattages is to adapt the control gear and the cooling for the luminaire. Thanks to their special pre-focus base the lamps can be quickly and easily mounted in the lampholders. The lock-and-key principle between the lamp and the holder prevents the lamps being installed incorrectly and therefore avoids loss of light or unwanted optical interference from the exhaust tube. With an arc of only 3 mm for the HTI 200 W/D3/70 and 400 W/D3/75, 4 mm for the 575 W/D4/75 and 700 W/D4/60 and 7 mm for the 1200 W/D7/60, the lamps in the SharXS family achieve high luminance and exceptional efficiency. In conjunction with appropriately designed luminaires, the HTI lamps produce more light than comparable lamps of the same wattage, or they consume less electricity to produce the same amount of light and therefore save energy. And as far as the standard lighting moods are concerned, different colour temperatures from 6000 K for daylight colour to 7500 K for extremely bright cold white light (Bright Light) provide exactly what customers are looking for. What makes XS technology so special is that it helps the lamps withstand thermal stress. The thermally sensitive area of the power supply leads is covered by a protective layer that enables the maximum temperature to increase to 450°C. Conventional lamps have enormous trouble with temperatures 100°C lower. Much less cooling is required. The cooling system takes up much less space and is quieter. The luminaires can therefore be made more compact. www.osram.com.au |

Strand's new SLD Sinewave dimmer will also be presented for the first time and on stand will be a working demonstration unit with a range of loads that will allow users to see the features of the new dimmer first-hand. These include true sinewave output for quiet lamps and accurate control; SST dimmer modules which can dim a wide range of loads including incandescent, inductive and capacitive devices from a fraction of a watt to full capacity; built-in micro-controller based short circuit and overload protection; SLD status reporting and advanced waveform compensation as standard; Single Pole, Double Pole and RCD circuit breakers; SST Solid State Transformer dimmers which produce less than 1% harmonic distortion. A new USB Key drive with built-in Designer Remote software will also be introduced. Lighting designers can plug the new drive into the USB port on a PC or Mac notebook with a wired or wireless Ethernet connection and within minutes will be able to access displays and controls on any Strand 300 or 500 series console. This new low-cost product will provide designers with a better and more convenient way to see console video displays using their notebook computers. As a registered WYSIWYG developer Strand will be presenting a full demonstration of the latest WYSIWYG software, operating on both PC and Mac platforms over a Strand ShowNet network. Users will find a host of enhancements from version 2.6.10. All the newest control peripherals will also be on display, including the latest in wireless notebook display software and wireless focus remotes. Visitors to the stand will also be able to learn more about the new ESTA ACN protocol that is currently in public review. Over the past few years ESTA has been working with a broad group of companies and individuals to create a new method for interconnecting all of the elements of a modern lighting system. ACN will define the standard for device control for entertainment systems. It is an enabling technology, which exists to allow manufacturers to incorporate features hitherto impossible into their products. www.strandlighting.com Australian Distributor: Bytecraft Entertainment www.bytecraftentertainment.com |

Licence Tour-Lynx Artistic Licence is very pleased to announce the launch of Tour-Lynx. Tour-Lynx is a Mid-Span Power Inserter for 10BaseT Ethernet. It is used to add low voltage power to the Ethernet cable. This allows Ethernet products such as Net-Lynx to be powered over the CAT5 cable. The front panel provides two rows of Ethercon RJ45 connectors. The top row connects to an Ethernet Hub or Switch. The bottom row connects both power and data to the Ethernet devices. Each powered outlet is protected by an electronic fuse and provides a 'power good' indicator. A total of twelve channels are provided. These are split into two banks of six. A power supply (Insta-PSU) is required for each bank of six outlets. Tour-Lynx is primarily aimed at the touring industry, providing a simple means to connect power and data via a single cable, to Ethernet nodes on stage. It will also find applications in the installation sector, where distribution of power and Ethernet into the building cable structure is becoming a significant requirement. www.artisticlicence.com Australian Distributor: Bytecraft Entertainment www.bytecraftentertainment.com Australian Distributor: Coemar De Sisti Australia Pty Ltd www.cdaust.com.au |

Licence's Colour-TrampColour-Tramp is an evolution of the original Lamp-Tramp control system that toured with such names as The Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge and Pink Floyd's Division Bell. Colour-Tramp is a lighting control centre for two and three dimensional colour changing arrays. It excels at controlling geometric lighting arrays in architectural applications such as building exteriors and illuminated plazas. It will also find applications in television where the sophisticated triggering options will vastly simplify game show set control. Other applications include nightclub dance floors and psuedo-video walls to name but a few. Colour-Tramp is a PC based system that merges the concept of lighting control with a graphic 'paint' package. A geographic representation of the lighting array is entered on screen using a sophisticated editor. The screen layout is then used to paint the lighting cues, which are then built into sequences for playback. The screen layout is also used to provide an accurate preview of the output. An 'off-line' version of the software is available free of charge. The off-line version has been developed to allow designers to use the actual control software for the storyboard and presentation phase. This means that by the time the job has been won, much of the show programming is already complete. The system can even export graphics for incorporation into presentation software. Colour-Tramp also features full support for the new RDM (Remote Device Management) protocol. RDM is used to retrieve sensor data from the lighting fixtures, such as temperature and voltage. This is displayed graphically with a colour coded display that provides instant feedback of fixture status. These diagnostic functions can be further enhanced by connection to the Artistic Licence IMS (Installation Management Server) which provides real time monitoring of installations and sends emails whenever human intervention is required. www.artisticlicence.com Australian Distributor: Bytecraft Entertainment www.bytecraftentertainment.com Australian Distributor: Coemar De Sisti Australia Pty Ltd www.cdaust.com.au |
