Martin MAC 575 Krypton No Nonsense Moving Head
The MAC 575 Krypton is the newest in Martin's line of award-winning MAC moving heads and the latest in the Krypton series. Based on the reliable MAC 700 platform, the MAC 575 Krypton combines super efficient optics for brighter output with outstanding gobos and colors, all wrapped in the MAC's market-proven, modular design. It is suited for venues or any space that demands reliable, durable and no-nonsense performance.
A highly efficient reflector and optical system create a powerful beam of smooth, uniform light, and with its 575 W short-arc discharge lamp the fixture surpasses the output of most fixtures in its class.
The MAC 575 Krypton houses two eight-position colour wheels plus open, both with interchangeable dichroic filters, split colour possibilities and continuous rotation. All colours are replaceable, enabling designers to customize the fixture to their own particular requirements.
Teaming up with the dual colour wheels are two gobo wheels; a 6-slot rotating gobo wheel and a 9 slot fixed gobo wheel. Both feature a set of exceptional gobo designs, all replaceable.
Martin has included a fully motorized zoom capable of beam angles from 14 to 30 degrees. Unlike step zoom systems that offer only two or three different beam angles, the 575's fully motorized zoom can achieve any beam angle within the range. A variable focus system allows for everything from razor-sharp image projection to de-focused background and morphing effects.
The 575 Krypton houses a combined dimmer/shutter capable of very smooth and fast intensity changes. When used as a shutter, accelerated strobe effects up to 14 Hz are possible. An interchangeable four-facet prism rotates at variable speeds, adding unique effects to gobo projection. A motorized iris offers quick and accurate resizing of the beam for fast or pulse effects with smaller beam sizes.
The 575 Krypton's road-tested modular design is not only highly durable it is also highly serviceable, perfect for clubs, bars and other harsh environments. Multi connectors and spring loaded release mechanisms mean that no tools are necessary to remove and insert modules.
Rapid and precise movement through 540° of pan and 246° of tilt are achieved with noticeably less noise than comparable products on the market. An intelligent position correction system automatically returns the fixture to its original position if knocked out of place and a multi position tilt lock keeps the head where you want it. The MAC 575 Krypton has user-configurable voltage and frequency settings, meaning that it can be quickly adapted to electrical requirements anywhere in the world.

Two new Selecon Acclaim Fresnel luminaires
Two new Selecon Acclaim Fresnel luminaires blend the advantages of discharge light source efficiency and life hours with all the features that have made the original 500W version so popular.
The new Acclaim CST 250 Fresnel with Hot Restrike capability (no fans) has been designed specifically for high output, high intensity architectural/specialised display lighting and for smaller studio or production applications where energy saving and cool light are important. The CST 250W HR discharge light source with its 3200°K colour temperature is interchangeable in this luminaire with the Philips MSR 250 HR discharge lamp (6000°K), offering designers a choice of either tungsten or 'daylight' colour temperatures.
The second new addition to this range is a high intensity display Fresnel luminaire with an adjustable 7°-60° soft edge beam for controlled illumination using the long life MSD 250W lamp. The combination of this popular light source with the rigging advantages of the Acclaim range make this luminaire a suitable tool for production and rental companies involved in larger display / tradeshow work or where a 'theatrical' look luminaire delivering a high colour temperature (6700ºK) is required, says the company.
Both of these new compact-sized Acclaim Fresnels (MSD 250 with integral 220-240V electronic power supply and CST 250 Hot Restrike with integral universal 90V-260V Hot Restrike electronic power supply) from Selecon will be available January 2008 with a choice of three colours: white, black and silver-grey.

Rosco X24 X-Effects
The Rosco X-Effects has undergone an engineering overhaul to drastically increase the durability and lifespan of the X-Effects projector in 24/7 operating environments such as theme parks, architectural installations and museums. Addressing both moving parts and optical components, our engineers have re-tooled guides, idlers, drive assemblies, motors and even tweaked the lamp and power supply of the previous X-Effects. The result is the X24 X-Effects.
This new unit replaces the previous X-Effects. The modifications have all been made in the front motor assembly so customers with existing X-Effects can upgrade their unit to an X24 simply by purchasing the X24 Front Motor Module. This new module installs quickly and easily with just 4 bolts and no wiring.
This truly amazing projector provides large scale rippling light effects previously unavailable to lighting designers. The device utilizes a 200 watt Enhanced Metal Arc source, whose short arc allows for an output of 5K lumens, with a 7000 hour lamp life. The color temperature is similar to a Xenon source at 6000K.
The effect itself is created by rotating two "X" size glass gobos off center of the optical path. This results in a projection that does not appear to have a visible direction or pattern. The color slot will accept dichroic color filters.
Lens trains are available in 30, 50 and 70-degree configurations. Due to the efficiency of the lamp and the design of the optics, all lenses have crisp edges, even for long throws of 100 feet or more.
The X24 X-Effects Projector is available in two configurations. For theatrical entertainment lighting, specify the model with DMX on board. Using five DMX channels, the unit has full control of each effect gobo, lamp strike and light output. The DMX-controlled douser, also initiated through your lighting control board, directs not only the light output but blackouts and fades as well.
For such permanent installations as retail or museum display, or where DMX is not required, the analog X24 X-Effects Projector is a good choice. It includes onboard potentiometers to control the speed and direction of both gobos.

Barco’s digital moving luminaire tears down boundaries between projection and lighting
Barco, a pioneer in visualization technology, is proud to announce the launch of the its digital moving luminaire DML-1200. The digital luminaire can be used both as super bright moving digital light source and high quality video projector, and allows lighting designers to design a truly unique show for every event, client and purpose. Applications for Barco’s DML-1200 are wide ranging, including concert music tours, theater and opera.
With its brightness, unlimited image selection and instant switching between light beam and video projection, cue by cue, the DML-1200 provides lighting designers pure creativity at their fingertips. With its on-board media player, lighting designers are no longer limited to static, pre-selected patterns and colors. Any image, static or animated, can be created and projected at a touch of a button. The DML-1200 uses both video and lighting protocols, including DMX512, allowing it to be driven directly from any lighting desk.
In light mode, the DML-1200 produces a perfectly circular light beam with a light output equivalent to that of a 1200W hard edged moving light and four times as bright as any other digital light on the market today. An internal optical dimming mechanism ensures smooth, accurate intensity control from 0 to 100% ensuring that a fade to black is a fade to true black, not video black (grey).
In video mode, the DML-1200 features a fully sealed DLP engine which delivers full color DLP quality video with SXGA+ (1400 x 1050 pixel) resolution and features a light output of 10,000 lumens. The DML-1200 also features a subtractive CMY color mixing system allowing for instant color changes as well as smooth, timed color cross-fades over several minutes. The DMD engine inside the unit is fitted with liquid cooling to ensure reliable operation.
Chris Colpaert, Director Product Management at Barco’s Media and Entertainment division says “With the DML-1200, we truly see a product that brings light and video together. Three years ago we met with Lighting Designers to brainstorm and understand what tools they dreamed of in this rapidly converging market space. Today, three years on, the DML-1200 is the fruit of these discussions and we are proud to be at the forefront of this exciting market.”
Barco’s digital moving luminaire will be commercially available as of Q2 2008.

Enttec opens DMX over Ethernet to Everyone – Introducing the ODE
Enttec’s latest release, the Open DMX Ethernet (ODE), brings DMX over Ethernet into reach of any budget for the very first time.
Enttec’s experience with DMX over Ethernet products, such as the DMXEthergate and Datagate, and the enormous success of their DMX/USB interfaces, has led to the development of the Open DMX Ethernet – a simple, low-cost DMX over Ethernet node.
The ODE is a truly plug’n’play Art-Net node. There are no dipswitches, thumb wheels or other fiddly settings to worry about. By default, it is set to output the first DMX Universe via Art-Net (Sub-net 0, Universe 0), making it easily compatible with a wide range of PC-based Lighting Controllers and Ethernet-enabled Lighting Consoles straight out of the box.
To access the full range of features, the ODE supports Enttec’s free NMU (Node Management Utility) software, which allows the user to configure the ODE to output other Art-Net universes; to act as an input - making your DMX console an Art-Net controller; or to work on ESP protocol instead of Art-Net (ESP is Enttec’s proprietary DMX over Ethernet protocol, used in products such as LightFactory).
Where more than 1 DMX Universe is required, you can simply connect as many ODE’s as are required to any standard Ethernet switch/hub. NMU allows you to plug your computer into the hub and ‘discover’ all connected ODE’s, so there’s no need to figure out IP addresses. NMU also supports Enttec’s Datagate and Playback
Wing, allowing you to configure your whole system from the one location.
Like Enttec’s other DMX over Ethernet devices, the ODE allows you to use standard, off-the-shelf Wireless Access Points to create wireless DMX links at incredibly low cost by comparison to dedicated wireless DMX systems. The use of 3rd party Wireless Access Points (by manufacturers such as D-Link, NetGear etc) also ensures spare or replacement points are available almost anywhere, seven days a week, from major retailers.
The Standard ODE uses a 9V plug pack power supply, and has two DMX connectors, allowing it to act as either an input or an output, depending upon your application, without the need for XLR gender changers. A Power-Over-Ethernet version of the ODE is also available for use with powered Ethernet systems.
The ODE will begin shipping in Australia shortly. Nicolas Moreau from Enttec will be on the Balanced Technology stand at Entech 2008 (Stand D31) demonstrating the ODE, as well as Enttec’s recently released RDS range of RDM-enabled DMX splitters.
Details of the ODE are available from: http://www.balancedtech.com.au/enttec/index-ode.htm |

Look Solutions celebrates with new models
Look Solutions will this year celebrate its tenth anniversary and its tenth appearance at PLASA and will celebrate by launching a host of new products in the exhibition zone of its UK distributor, White Light.
On show for the first time will be new versions of two of Look's most renowned products, the Tiny Fogger and the Tiny Compact, offering improved performance, reduced size and easier maintenance over their predecessors.
The Tiny F07 is a miniature, battery operated smoke machine that, at just 10.5x4.9x5.0cm, is suitable for hiding in scenery, costumes or props. Controllable via a built-in button, a cable remote or optional XLR-remote or wireless radio remote, the Tiny F07 is designed so that it only draws power from its battery when necessary - but with a heat-up time of just 0.5 seconds its still always ready for use. The new model is designed so that the vaporiser can easily be changed by the user on site.
The Tiny C07 is an 'all-in-one' version of the Tiny Fogger with integrated battery and fluid reservoir for situations where a compact, hand-held smoke machine is required. Like the Tiny F07, the battery supplies energy to the smoke machine only when required, giving a standby time of up to 250 hours. The Tiny C07 has the same near-instantaneous 0.5 second heat-up time, meaning that it is always ready to go. The new Tiny C07 also shares the easily serviceable vaporiser as the new Tiny F07.
Other products from the Look Solutions range, including the Unique 2 low-noise haze machine, will also be on show.

grandMA video: Now with 32 layers
MA Lighting recently improved its popular media server grandMA video. To make programming more comfortable and sophisticated the amount of video layers was increased to 32 layers. It’s also possible to reboot or shutdown all connected MA mediaPCs centrally from the console and to switch to the Pixel Mapper mode from the grandMA. Furthermore the network structure was enhanced with the Sniffer-mode. This mode allows the control of 254 grandMA video stations from one grandMA instead of “just” 31 in Slave-mode. Already available features like the scale and playmode functions have also been improved.
During the production of the “German Pop Idol 2007” altogether 22 MA mediaPCs with the grandMA video software were used. The media servers all received a SDI video signal to display every live camera picture on all of the installed screens and by doing this include them into the overall show design. This big installation led to the development of a special feature for this show. The control of the yellow tally-lights on the cameras was directly implemented into the grandMA console. This was a huge advantage regarding the display of live pictures on the built-in LED-screens because the director of photography and the side crew always knew which camera was on air.
grandMA video is a fully integrated part of the grandMA network system and not just triggered via DMX. This has many advantages. Not only a minimum of setup and configuration is required due to bi-directional communication between the console and the grandMA video software, but also the grandMA console allows for direct access to the server and automatically imports and previews content thumbnails in the presets.

LEDNEON from Prime Electronics
Though neon has long been the mainstream and benchmark of outdoor linear lighting, there still exist lots of unsolved weaknesses which include complicated installation, expensive high voltage transformers, fragility, potential shock hazard, high maintenance cost, and extremely high power consumption.
For years LED technology has been used for researching an alternate but have until now been unable to find a complete solution for neon replacement.
Finally Prime Electronics are proud to announce that they have located a perfect substitute for neon.
Visually, LEDNEON, cannot be distinguished from traditional neon, however, on a closer inspection you will notice a number of benefits; that there is no large buzzing transformer, no neon-tube painted black between each letter, and most of all you can touch it, bend it while it is ON with no fear of electrocution.
This amazing LEDNEON is powered from 12VDC making it safe to the touch, is cut-able every 3cms and can be bent, touched and moulded without any special knowledge or degree of glass handling capabilities. Most of all, it is virtually indestructible.

W-DMX introduces dual universe transmitter
Wireless Solution Sweden has announced the launch of the W-DMX BlackBox S-2, billed as "the world's first dual universe transmitter".
Designed with the rental and production markets in mind, the S-2 offers both easy and reliable operation, says the company. Two push buttons on the new front allow operation of universes 1 & 2 along with two DMX inputs both accepting full frame / full refresh DMX. Other features include signal level control and DMX over RJ45 and Cat 5 cable. The unit is plug and play and provides interference-free operation.
Stackable to 19", units can be configured to allow four DMX Universes per 19" rack unit with 1U. A 2U rack mounting kit is also available for two units. The mounting kit will provide DMX in/out and antenna output on both front and back with termination buttons on the front to easily terminate the DMX line. Both DMX inputs will be isolated with UL listed circuitries that withstand 1kV during 1s.
Minimal cabling requirements and multiple power input options ensure that the transmitter can be easily incorporated into new and existing installations. One press of the front panel button is all that is required to search for and link with unallocated receivers. Operation can then begin immediately to control any fixtures that are DMX cabled to receivers. The ability to send multiple DMX universes is a real advantage for large, distributed installations, adds the company.
"We saw the need for this type of system for a variety of situations," explains Niclas Arvidsson, international sales manager for Wireless Solution. "For example, when multiple board operators split a large rig into sections, the S-2 eliminates the need for additional transmitters."
W-DMX is suitable for applications where running DMX cable is not practical. The product range has a high power radio output with up to 350mW and offers the most complete product line, from indoor to outdoor units with IP65 and Nema 6 standards. W-DMX has full support of RDM, is CE and ETSI certified in Europe and Asia, FCC certified in the Americas (awaiting UL), and is certified in Japan with ARIB STD-T66 radio standards.
W-DMX technology uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Adaptive Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (AFHSS) to avoid interference.

Twice the Possibilities from a Single LED Fixture
The new Chroma-Q™ Color Split is a compact, high output LED fixture providing designers with twice the possibilities.
Based around the Color Block's modular, multi-purpose design, the Color Split features larger dual side-by-side RGBA cells. This ingenious configuration provides designers with the flexibility to light with a bold single colour or project a wide range of dramatic split colour effects from a single LED fixture - making it ideal as a truss toner for illuminating the uprights and crossbraces.
The Color Split's advanced split beam technology also provides a very even, soft beam output, similar to a Fresnel fixture, for a smooth colour wash from top to bottom of a surface without hotspots. A wide-angle lens in one cell evenly washes the lower portion of a wall or drape while a narrow lens in the second cell projects the beam higher. The fixture is also very bright and has a smooth, linear dimming curve.
In addition to the standard RGB and latest HSI (Hue, Saturation and Intensity) control modes found in the Color Block, the Color Split also features unique 3 channel RGB (Magic Amber) and 4 channel RGBI (Magic Amber) modes which automatically and seamlessly blend the Amber alongside the RGB LEDs. By adding Amber to the colour-mixing process, a better range of warmer colours can be achieved, resulting in an enhanced colour gamut and therefore superior colour rendition index (up to 82%).
With a 340 lumen output, the Color Split is also extremely bright, making it ideal for even the most demanding lighting environments and applications.
For maximum versatility, the Color Split features a built-in power supply and choice of control modes - the fixture can be operated in a standalone mode featuring 99 selectable effects or connected to DMX and controlled using additional equipment.
As well as making a highly effective wall washer and truss toner, the Color Split's modular, interlocking design and versatile yoke mounting makes it ideal for providing a wide variety of other effects lighting applications as well in the touring, rental, TV, theatre, tradeshow and indoor architectural sectors.
Units can be floor, truss or wall mounted and used individually or easily connected together to provide battens, blinders, footlights, side fills, cyclorama floods, discreet set piece lighting and interior architectural lighting applications - all from just a single fixture.

FocusTrack: Version 1.300 Available Now
FocusTrack, the production lighting documentation software, is now available in a new version - version 1.300, released on August 10th.
The new version adds a multitude of new features, many requested by lighting designers and programmers who are already using FocusTrack to document the lighting of their shows.
Leading the list of new features in FocusTrack is the ability to detect preset- and postset-only positions when importing a showfile; these are positions never used on their own but to set up the live movement of lights as they are fading in or fading out, meaning that their documentation is important to the overall look of the show.
FocusTrack also adds new 'FocusFinder' functionality: this means that as a new position is created at the console, FocusTrack can detect whether identical or similar preset focus positions have been created for that light. Alternatively, FocusTrack can list focus positions that are very similar to each other for particular lights, allowing the number of focuses to be rationalised where required - for example, when preparing a fast-moving tour of a show where focus time will be limited.
RigTrack, the rig management module within FocusTrack, has seen many new additions to its functionality. A user-editable Fixture Library will reduce data entry time when creating lighting rigs manually; 'combi-fixtures' of lights with accessories can also be created to speed entry further. RigTrack can now also generate weight and power totals, can quickly show different subsets of a rig (conventional or moving lights, tungsten or arc sources), and can import rig data from VectorWorks Spotlight as well as from Lightwright and other sources.
RigTrack has also gained new tools for examining how rigs are used, including the ability to flag unused channels, a track-sheet view for following a light's use through a show, and a Cue Summary view for examining complete cue states and changes from cue to cue, with a light's function show as either its conventional focus note or its moving light position group. Electricians will appreciate new tools for quickly shifting unit numbers as lights are added or removed, and a dipswitch display for DMX addresses.
FocusTrack 1.300 is the third major version of FocusTrack since its launch in 2005. In that time, the product has been put to use on a wide variety of shows, currently including Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins and Footloose in London, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables and Frost/Nixon in New York, Miss Saigon on tour around the world, and with English National Opera, Glyndebourne Opera and the Linbury Studio at the Royal Opera House.
FocusTrack can be downloaded from the FocusTrack website at www.focustrack.co.uk; the download version includes a 'mini-show' and will operate in Demo Mode for fourteen days, allowing those interested to experiment with real show information as quickly as possible.

Hippotizer V3 goes on full release
Green Hippo Ltd has announced the first full release of Hippotizer V3 software for their award winning media server range. Although V3 hardware has been available for several months all systems to date have been supplied with V2 software alongside a Beta Version of the latest incarnation. Extensive testing has been carried out on projects as large as The Eurovision Song Contest with Spectra in Finland and Frobisher with Mode Studios in the USA to ensure the system has real-world verification.
Features new to Version 3 are timeline, media synchronization across servers, HippoNet multi-system communications and built in media encoding capabilities. The acclaimed frame-blending and full HD playback capabilities remain, as does the intuitive user interface, albeit now with multi-monitor integration.
“To some of us it feels like we’ve been in BETA phase for ever!” says Green Hippo Director James Ross Heron, “but we’ve always set our standards as ex-event guys, knowing that products which don’t work to full capability in the events industry are a hindrance not a progression. One of Green Hippo’s first mission statements was to not Beta Test our products on paying customers without their knowledge. Our refusal to be pressured into full release is based on just that and now we are confident this product is finished and ready to be fed into shows to make a real difference to how media is played back in live environments.”
Green Hippo’s ‘Chief Product Evangelist’ Nigel Sadler has been at the forefront of the testing. “Going into full release with this software is a personal milestone for me. I’ve spent the best part of 6 months on the road testing and pushing Hippotizer to the limits on everything from Opera to Dance events and I’ve never been so confident to see a product fall into the hands of the end users. We’ve already started to respond to user requests for the next update and we’re seeing operators achieving results even we’ve never envisaged. Only last week I was at Industrial Resolution Festival in Manchester with 6 HD Hippotizers synchronized to give the highest resolution screen a dance event has ever done. A first, even before we were out of BETA! We like our jobs!”

Jands Launches Cost-Effective Pro Level Dimmer
Jands has launched a new professional touring quality, high density 12 channel dimmer designed to give rental companies, theatres, conferences and even schools a cost-effective and reliable way to fade lights up and down.
The FPX's smart turn-on software feature ensures popping circuit breakers is a thing of the past. In the event of a power surge the software automatically smoothes the current - which can be up to ten times normal with a cold lamp - preventing the circuit breakers from tripping. As a result, the dimmer can be switched from zero to full without fear of blowing a breaker.
The unit also benefits from an auto-shutoff feature that switches the outputs off if there's no DMX signal for ten minutes - if someone switches off the control room but not the dimmers, the FPX will work this out by itself.
For a rugged, road-proof design, circuit breakers are embedded in a recess so they won't get damaged during transportation. In addition, the front panel includes a three-digit seven segment, high contrast display and easy to use buttons for testing and configuration.

HES debut Showgun at Live Earth USA
High End Systems (HES) has launched and is now shipping its newest automated luminaire, the Showgun™. It made its US debut at the “Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis” concert on 07.07.07
Showgun is in essence a larger than normal automated light that can project images, change and mix dichroic colors, and switch from hard-edge to soft-edge all within a compact system. Adding an extra bit of flash is the LED Tracking System, which forms a circle around the lens.
Showgun’s main output uses a 2,000-watt short arc metal halide lamp, designed as a joint venture between Philips and High End Systems. The new MSR 2000SA Gold lamp uses a novel fast fit socket design that allows for a more compact reflector combination. Combining the high-performance lamp, advanced reflector, and revolutionary optical design, Showgun produces more than 100,000 lumens of output.
The LED Tracking System is a homogenously mixed RGB LED circular array, which allows the user to either match the color of the main output beam, or to project a complementary color by mixing RGB values. The LED Tracking System alone produces more than 5,000 lumens of output. It can be switched on and off via a DMX lighting controller, depending on the desired look.
At the forefront of the fixture is a new patent-pending optical design. This optical design incorporates a proprietary, optically accurate polymer microfresnel lens allowing Showgun to produce a focused hardedge or a soft-edge beam combination, without the need for two separate fixtures. The hardedge beam allows SHOWGUN to project HES glass LithoPattern™ images and texturized Art Glass for effects, while the soft-edge produces a washlight beam.
HES CTO/Co-Founder Richard Belliveau says Showgun is shaping the future of lighting design using a current method of “radical rethinking.”
LD Patrick Dierson of Artfag specified 18 Showgun fixtures for the event at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Mainlight Industries, the first US company to purchase Showgun, supplied the fixtures to event lighting contractor PRG.

Enttec Release RDS Range of RDM/DMX Splitters

Enttec have further cemented their reputation as leaders in the development of RDM (Remote Device Management) tools with the release of their new RDS range of RDM/DMX Splitters.
The range consists of the RDS4 - a 1-in, 4-out standalone/truss mount splitter, and the RDS8 – a 1 in, 8-out rackmount splitter. Both splitters are fully compatible with standard DMX equipment, as well as offering support for RDM enabled consoles and fixtures, and have isolation up to 1500 Volts between inputs and outputs.
RDM allows bidirectional communication between compatible consoles and devices such as moving lights and LED fixtures. Standard DMX splitters will not allow RDM equipment to function correctly, as they do not allow messages to be passed back from fixtures to console.
The RDS Splitters pass all RDM information back and forth between the console and fixtures, allowing RDM features such as remote addressing, reporting of lamp hours etc to be used while still offering the benefits of full isolation between outputs.
The RDS range also includes some handy features that will make integrating new RDM equipment into your existing stock much smoother and simpler. Some older DMX equipment does not respond well to RDM messages, causing flickering and other unwanted issues. The RDS offers an RDM Filter option to remove all RDM packets, allowing older DMX equipment to be connected on the same network without these unwanted effects. A Bypass option is also available, bypassing all processing, allowing the RDS to operate as a simple DMX splitter.
The RDS range is the latest addition to Enttec’s RDM tools, alongside the RDM USB Pro and the Enttec RDM Software Suite.

New Range of Modular Fresnel Spotlights from Robert Juliat
The French revolution is still happening! Vive LE CIN'K!
Robert Juliat has developed a brand new range of 250mm Fresnel lens spotlights, known as LE CIN'K, the innovative feature of which gives several modular solutions based around one common component - a removable lamp compartment with interchangeable lamp base.
A single lamp house can accept any of four kinds of lamp bases - accommodating either 2500W tungsten, 5000W tungsten, 1200W discharge or 2500W discharge lamps - and can therefore be quickly turned into a new spotlight according to requirements. This is especially valuable to rental houses and multipurpose venues and studios as each unit is versatile and quick to transform, saving storage space and investment in fixtures which can only perform one function.
Robert Juliat set about designing LE CIN'K with similar aims to their1000W tungsten range LUTIN spotlights, concentrating on ease of handling, setting and operation of the units, in addition to the excellent output provided by the 250mm lens.
Like the LUTIN, LE CIN'K's power cable connects directly into the rear handle where the terminal is located for easy access during periodical maintenance. There is also the now-familiar scale pointer and a yoke index enabling rapid restoration of settings.
LE CIN'K also offers an innovative option of a silent cooling fan which focuses on the accessory slot. This has the double benefit of preserving gel life and allowing the use of deeper gels with the insurance of a longer lasting effect.
Robert Juliat also recommend the use of their DMX controlled dimming shutter, the JALOUSIE, in conjunction with the discharge option of Le CIN'K to enable the unit to be fully dimmable.
