Entertainment Installations purchase Clay Paky Sharpys

As part of Entertainment Installations ever on-going gear upgrade cycle they’ve recently taken delivery of sixteen Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures.

Chosen for their awesome speed and the fact that they can cut through anything, the Sharpys were immediately whisked away to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre for two nights of shows with 1927 and The McClymonts.

“We’ve been looking at Sharpys for a while now and finally committed to sixteen units – just in time for the summer season,” said Neale Mace, managing director at Entertainment Installations. “I wanted a fixture that could deliver speed and intensity as well as a palette of effects.”

Bryce Mace, LD for 1927 couldn’t wait to get the Sharpys in and running and once he had, it was the start of a whole new love affair.

““They’re great, I love them!”, he declared. “I love the sharp beams, brightness, speed and the famous Clay Paky top quality lense. Plus they don’t draw much power.”

Bryce created some impressive looks using the Sharpys, as well as a bunch of Martin MAC301’s, using the massive, punchy beams to great effect.

“From near parallel beams to laser-like moving gobo effects as well as great colours – these lights have it all,” he added. “I like that they have a prism function in them so you can have different looks other than just a pin spot look.”

Bryce waited until the seventh song of the set before using the Sharpys so that their stunning and eye-catching effect was not over used.

With an unprecedented brightness the Clay Paky Sharpy produces a perfectly parallel, laser-like beam that is sharply defined and free of any halo or discoloration. It offers 14 different colours and 17 gobos, ensuring the designer can easily change the shape of the beam to create an array of spectacular mid-air and onstage effects.
