Encore is Melbourne’s newest function and event centre located on the city’s most famous beach, St Kilda. Encore is a purpose built space with flexibilities in design that allow it to hold a broad range of events including small cocktail functions, weddings, meetings, product launches, dinners and breakfasts through to major events. Encore can cater for groups from 50 -700 due to the variety of spaces that can be created.
RTR Productions installed 110m of lighting bars in three different rooms that can be configured as one, two or three spaces. Each of these three ‘rooms’ has an ELC612 XUB DMX scene player panel that can store twelve scenes of 512 DMX channels from the DMX input – you can then recall them with a simple touch of a button.
Martin Ether2DMX runs one output to the lighting bar in every room and is hooked up to a CAT6 patch bay for multiple input points around the venue. It also has an output to two 32amp dimmers that feed the outlets on the lighting bars.
“On the Ether2DMX we can change the set up to plug in a wireless PC with M-pc software or just a lighting desk,” remarked Cris Cochis, productions manager at RTR Productions. “We can also merge DMX to overwrite the existing and in-operation ELC preset to do on-the-fly lighting show.
Fourteen Martin SCX600 scanners have also been installed, chosen for their maximum light output and true high-definition image quality. The SCX600 scanners offer separate colour and gobo wheels to create a multitude of brilliant effects.
