Dynamic colours for streets of Perth

Actively cultivating an outstanding cityscape to it’s  citizens and tourists, the capital of Western Australia is developing a growing  passion for illuminating its urban areas, such as parks, avenues and city buildings. ULA Group working together with local Perth lighting partner Light Application have been involved in another of the city’s key lighting projects. Light Application has specified and installed a number of dynamic ,energy efficient RGB LED in ground lighting fixtures to uplight street scape trees along Victoria Avenue and Mounts Bay Road.

At the first stage of this project, 32 Griven DUNE 30 in ground fixtures were specified and installed to illuminate trees in Victoria Avenue . The concept was to wash the trees with deep, vivid colored light.

The second stage comprised of 32 more  DUNE 30 fixtures being embedded in the ground, surrounding the imposing trees in Mounts Bay Road. This has resulted in a modern, unique atmosphere also to this part of the city, following the same lighting scheme.

All the fixtures are individually controlled and scheduled for various colour sequences during each evening. Moreover, a special event programming is triggered automatically for Australian holidays, such as Australia Day, Earth Hour, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and many more.

The whole project was supervised by Perth based Light Application, specialising in lighting and control solutions. The managing director David Sparrow comments: “We have trialled many different fixtures and kept coming back to the Griven Dunes through ULA.  Our long term client relationships rely on quality and performance. We’re very happy to add these projects to our list of successful Perth urban lighting projects.”
