Clearlight Shows’ MAC Vipers Strike Out

Melbourne’s Clearlight Shows has added eight Martin MAC Viper Profiles to their hire stock. The Martin MAC Viper is the newest generation of moving head profile and houses a 1000-watt high-output lamp. It is compact, light and versatile with deep saturated colours and a fantastic range of new vibrant gobos. Clearlight Shows has no doubt that they will be in great demand!

Tom Willis, a freelance lighting designer who works closely with Clearlight as his preferred supplier, was the first lucky person to use their Vipers on a speech night held at Melbourne Town Hall.

“It was a great opportunity to see them perform in a large space,” he commented. “The output on them is extraordinary, they are very bright. I only needed four of them to wash the entire back wall of the space. They were zoomed right out with colours and gobos yet still read very strongly. The standard gobos supplied are a good mix that covers all the bases.

“The MAC Vipers were very impressive. They are a very quick unit in fact the zoom is extraordinarily quick. Overall, they are a strong solid moving light.”

Tom states that he can see the MAC Viper becoming an industry standard in the way that the MAC700 has been a strong staple in hire inventories worldwide.

“As a multi-purpose standard they will be fantastic,” he said. “Just the light output alone will make them so useful in many applications. You will be able to use fewer fixtures to achieve the same result when it comes to projection or zoom them right down to get some strong big beam effects – they are very versatile.”
