City Theatrical Launches SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 6

SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 6 gives users a sixth SHoW ID to broadcast on, for the first time allowing SHoW Baby users access to City Theatrical’s innovative maximum bandwidth technology. Maximum bandwidth technology allows SHoW Baby 6 to broadcast in the area of Wi-Fi channel 14, which is not used in the US and is not heavily used in other countries, thereby allowing users to avoid the more crowded areas of the 2.4GHz band.
City Theatrical developed maximum bandwidth technology to create more ways to avoid interference in an increasingly crowded 2.4GHz spectrum. The 2.4GHz portion of the spectrum is the optimum area for wireless DMX broadcast, allowing signals to pass through objects better than the 5.8GHz area, and able to carry more data than the 900MHz area. Using either the 5.8GHz or 900mHz areas of the spectrum require compromises that mission critical applications can’t tolerate.
Choosing maximum bandwidth technology is a simple selection from the onboard user interface that takes only seconds to make. Additionally, with six SHoW IDs, larger multi-universe systems can be scaled up, or as many as six independent SHoW Baby 6 systems can be used in the same area without interfering with each other.
SHoW Baby 6 is compatible with all existing SHoW Babys, and since SHoW Baby is compatible with all SHoW DMX Neo products, SHoW Babys can be used as receivers in SHoW DMX Neo systems, or as a transmitter with City Theatrical’s D2 or D4 Neo LED Dimmers, or QolorPoint Wireless LED Uplighters. SHoW Baby 6 is also compatible with the new ETC ColorSource Relay and ColorSource Transmitter.
SHoW Baby 6 is a transceiver, and the method of selecting whether it is a transmitter or receiver is entirely plug and play. When a DMX cable is plugged into the SHoW Baby’s DMX input, the unit senses the connection and automatically configures itself as a transmitter. If no cable is connected to the DMX input, the unit automatically configures itself as a receiver.
