Leko & Milenko Novakovic award finalists
Posted on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017
Novatech Creative Event Technology is pleased to announce that Leko & Milenko Novakovic have been named a national finalist in the 2017 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards. Leko & Milenko join other outstanding entrepreneurs from across Australia who will compete for the ultimate prize of being named 2017 Australian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year.
Brothers Leko and Milenko Novakovic are leading providers of entertainment and event technologies. The pair founded Novatech Production Services in 2001 as an equipment hire and live performance production provider.
The company experienced tremendous growth in the live concert and festival market and with an ever-increasing demand for high calibre technical management services, Novatech Productions changes its name to Novatech Creative Event Technology. This reflected a move towards total presentation solutions rather than just equipment hire and answered the demand for a new standard of professionalism in the industry.
Now in its 17th year of business, Novatech celebrates landmark accomplishments such as integrating Australia’s first d3 video production suite and developing a proprietary, scalable, network driven conferencing solution, One System. Judges’ Comments “Novatech is a terrific, innovative business. Milenko and Leko have worked hard and taken risks along the way but have ultimately succeeded in their competitive advantage by investing in leading edge technology and delivering the best solutions for their happy customers.”
Leko & Milenko will join their fellow national finalists representing South Australia at the national award ceremony on 1st November in Melbourne where national category winners will be announced.
Goodbye to Ayrton’s Valère Huart-Gyors
Posted on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017
It is with a heavy heart that we report the heart of Valère stopped beating last Sunday. He was 37 years old.
Valère Huart-Gyors, our collaborator and dear colleague, was responsible for exporting Ayrton throughout the world. Since 2011, from Las Vegas to Sydney, he has spread our values with a rare commitment because Valère was an authentic fan of Ayrton.
Methodical, organized and precise, he advanced quickly and well, exercising a detailed knowledge of his market. Societies and their politics, people and their past, excited him in addition to his many interests such as history, politics, music … Valère was both brilliant and cultivated. His humor, sharp and often caustic, made us laugh. He was also a rascal, and Norman…
It was with the enthusiasm of a young graduate of higher education that he arrived in Paris at the age of 22, first as a salesman at AVLS, then as purchasing manager for La BS, before joining Ayrton to develop international sales. “It’s Ayrton’s second life,” he said humorously when he arrived in 2011, and success, which first struck in the US, spread throughout the globe.
Now, sadly, Valère will no longer get angry at how societies have broken creativity, he will no longer organize parties with his friends, death has stolen half of his life. He was infinitely kind to the whole team, whose dismay is matched only by the sadness of having lost a friend.
We are already missing him.

Industry Luminary Francis Reid passes away at 86
Posted on Wednesday, June 15th, 2016
It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of industry luminary, Francis Reid.
Reid was a much-loved and respected lighting designer, author and teacher who lit hundreds of shows and shared his knowledge and experience of lighting in many popular books and publications and with countless students throughout the world.
A statement from the Association of Lighting Designers reads: “Francis was a founding member of the Association, playing a key role in establishing the practice of stage lighting design and the role of Lighting Designer in the UK.
He was 86, and had spent all his working life in and around theatre, but was also an inspiring teacher and a prolific author, who made lighting and the arts of theatre making come alive for several generations of practitioners, at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts), at what is now Central St Martins, the Royal Conservatoire Scotland and around the world. But at heart he was always a theatre maker who did lighting, rather than a lighting man who did theatre.”
