ALIA Tour to Bruce Springsteen, Brisbane

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are receiving glowing reviews on their current Australian tour. Now you have the chance to check out his lighting rig and hear first hand about the process involved in running this show. The lighting is designed by Jeff Ravitz with both Todd Riccie and Brad Brown on the road as lighting directors; the show is operated by two MA2 consoles.
Todd and Brad have kindly agreed to conduct a tour of the lighting rig at Brisbane’s second show THIS THURSDAY!
The rig includes GLP impression X4, PRG GroundControl™ Followspot Systems, Ayrton MagicRing R9s, Ayrton MagicBlades, Clay Paky Sharpys, Martin MAC Viper Profiles and MAC Auras, Philips Vari-Lite VL3000 Spots and VL1100 TSD Spots, Solaris Flares, Philips Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12 TR, ColorBurst 6s, iW Blast TRs and MDG Atmosphere hazers.

ALIA TOUR TO PASSENGER Sydney

Lighting and live production design group Okulus, made up of James Scott and Louis Oliver, have created the visuals for British musician Passenger’s Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea tour.
The design concept is based around a back wall of Martin VDO Sceptron strips using Robe BMFL spots, Robe Spiiders, Minuettes, and four cell linear molefay.
Jake Vernum is on the road with the tour, using an MA Lighting MA2, and he has kindly agreed to conduct a tour of the lighting rig at Sydney’s second show on January 28th.

mondo*dr awards – submissions wanted

Brought to you by the team behind mondo*dr magazine – the international publication for technology in entertainment – the mondo*dr awards have been launched to recognise and celebrate the technical marvels that are created in today’s entertainment outlets.
Known for having a presence in every corner of the world, mondo*dr wants you to share this global platform and put your project in the spotlight. Whether you’re a manufacturer, distributor, installer, lighting designer, architect, acoustician, consultant or venue operator, as long as you work within the realms of fixed installations in the entertainment world… we want you to get involved!
All the projects submitted will be uploaded to the website so that, over time, the mondo*dr awards website will become a comprehensive resource for fixed installations that can be used by all walks of industry life as inspiration.
We’ve split the awards into five easy venue categories, which span across four geographical territories and it’s quick and simple to put your entry forward. The winners will be selected by an independent judging panel and will be presented with their awards at a celebration event during Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt 2017.
There is no other award ceremony in the industry purely focussed on congratulating the work that goes into putting such prestigious projects together, so join us and be part of this landmark occasion. Help us to celebrate the passion that drives the industry from within.
Who can enter?
Anyone can enter an award, but wherever possible we strongly recommend that the specifier, installer, or venue operator compile the entry. Manufacturers submitting an entry are advised to credit any other manufacturers involved as well as the design and installation teams.
Which projects are eligible?
For a project to be eligible for the mondo*dr awards it must have been completed after 1 September 2015 and before 31 October 2016.
When is the deadline?
The deadline for project entries 31 December 2016.

Lexair present Basic Level HOG 4 Training around Australia

Our programming introduction course covers the powerful HOG Control Software (now in v3.5.0), which is used in the HOG 4, Full Boar 4, Road Hog 4, Hedgehog 4 and Hog 4PC.
Attendees will learn a hands-on approach, using the industry standard HOG 4 operating software, connected to a visualiser. There will be no more than 2 people to each console. The class will cover:
- console layout
- show file organisation programming
- saving show files
- and much more…
The course is fast-paced and requires that attendees meet our prerequisites. A working knowledge of modern entertainment lighting terminology and familiarity with DMX control systems is essential prior to attending.
Places are limited in order to give all attendees hands on time with the consoles, so pre booking and confirmation are essential. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Perth MA Lighting console training

Show Technology is again offering MA Lighting console training for perspective console operators.
MA Lighting consoles continue to be the preferred console of many operators and programmers from all of the main entertainment segments, Theatre, Concert, Corporate and stages of all types and sizes.
Training will be conducted in line with the MA Training University, on MA 2 series consoles. No more than two operators per console – guaranteed.
