SGM G-4 Wash with Motorized Barn Doors

Posted on Friday, November 24th, 2017

SGM’s new G-4 Wash LED Fresnel has motorized barn doors that can be operated remotely via DMX. The fixture is designed for use on concert stages, in theaters and for TV and film production.

Each of the four blades has individual -90° to +40° angle control, and the whole module rotates -110° to +110°. With the maximum output achieved at the 15°-18° zoom range, the luminaire delivers the best light output for the size of its lens.

The G-4 Wash Motorized Barndoors is the first moving head able to achieve a coherent and qualified light spectrum in all colour temperatures with a completely even field and no hotspots. This is achieved through a combination of RGBAM additive mixing, the included glass Fresnel front lens, precise SGM firmware, and colour mixing based on Red, Green, Blue, Amber, and Mint LEDs.

The silent performing moving head also solves one of the biggest demands in LED luminaires; a real congo blue colour. With a physical enhancer, the G-4 Wash Motorized Barndoors can create deep and saturated blues, including the characteristic shade of a real congo blue colour.

With an expected lifetime of 50,000 hours, this powerful yet compact luminaire offers 2,000-10,000K CTC linear control, while delivering best-in-class color rendering with TLCI, CRI, CQS, and Rf values all higher than 90.

SGM Q-10

Posted on Tuesday, November 21st, 2017

SGM’s IP65-rated Q-10, featured at LDI 2017 in Las Vegas, is a 60K lumen output RGBW LED luminaire that can function as a strobe, flood, pixel light and blinder with non-fading continuous output.

At the same time, the powerful and low-noise Q-10 is practically maintenance free and comes with a user-friendly display, wireless control, and integrated handle making is easy to operate, transport, rig, and to focus.

As with all the other IP65-rated luminaires in SGM’s product range, the Q-10 comes with the well-known SGM thermal management and is kept free of externally induced particles on internal optics and light sources. The internal built-in patented SGM dehumidifier further protects the fixture from moisture, smoke fluid, pollution, humidity, and any other factors that can generate corrosion.

With an expected lifetime of 50,000 hours, this rectangular full color SMD LED luminaire keeps the same accurate color calibration of the remaining SGM Q series and the avoidance of color shifts. It incorporates a total of 4,096 SMD LEDS evenly distributed between RGB SMD LEDs and white SMD LEDs, delivering best-in-class optical colour mixing as well as a linear colour temperature control ranging from 2,000K to 10,000K.

With the wide 110° beam angle, the Q-10 offers a wide even-field coverage, making it ideal for cycloramas, wall washing, large objects and areas, and stage lighting. It comes with eight individually controllable segments, generating wide-ranging colour effects and pixel-mapping combinations for creative lighting designs. Each segment provides extremely fast feedback, individual RGB control and superior dimming performance for velvet smooth fades and flicker-free operation.

X-Effects LED Projector from Rosco

Posted on Monday, November 20th, 2017

Rosco is thrilled to announce the introduction of the X-Effects LED Projector – the next generation of dynamic lighting effects from Rosco. Over the past 15 years, the X24 X-Effects Projector has captured the imagination of lighting professionals in all of Rosco’s core illumination markets and has become one of Rosco’s most popular light fixtures. Best known for its signature water effect seen in aquariums and restaurants all around the world – this fixture’s unique effects-engine has also created captivating light art inside museums and realistic lighting effects on stage.

Now we have an additional way to create those same lighting effects using a compact, power-efficient LED fixture. The X-Effects LED Projector is available in two models that project bright, vibrant lighting effects – a cool white, 5500K unit and a color-mixing RGBW unit. Both models feature bright output, are capable of 33’ (10m) throws, and feature four lens accessories to choose from – enabling designers the ability to adjust the fixture’s beam-spread to their project.

Just like the X24, the standard X-Effects Glass that ships with the fixture can be swapped out to create other lighting effects. Effects Glass Gobos such as Image Glass and ColorWaves, for example, can be used to create mesmerizing lighting effects, and Custom Gobos can be ordered for the fixture to add messaging or stylized textures and patterns.

Another new feature of the X-Effects LED Projector is its IP65 rating. The most common request for the X24 was to release a model that could be installed outdoors. Whether it’s water effects for aquariums, fire effects for casinos or falling snowflakes for retail stores and themed attractions – designers have requested a way to project lighting effects onto the facades of buildings. Until now, that was only possible by purchasing large, expensive enclosures. The X-Effects LED Projector is IP65 rated, which means its effects can be projected wherever they’re needed – indoors and outdoors.

The X-Effects LED Projector is fully dimmable and features both onboard controls and RDM-compatible DMX controls. Three knobs provide manual control of the dimming and speed/direction of the two pieces of X-Effects Glass inside the fixture. The fixture’s DMX and RDM capabilities not only control dimming & speed/direction, it also provides remote addressing of the fixture plus color control of the RGBW fixture.

We can go on-and-on about all of the bells and whistles of the new X-Effects LED Projector – but it’s the EFFECTS that it can generate that should take center stage. The next time your design calls for vibrant lighting effects that need to travel in a linear direction – remember that Rosco has the solution and visit the X-Effects LED Projector page on our website.
