Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area boasts a multitude of lifestyle options, with fantastic beaches, hinterlands and one of the best climates in Australia. As one of the premier employers in the region, Council actively promotes work/life balance to ensure that working and living in the area is the most enjoyable experience possible.

One of Council’s cultural services which helps achieve this experience, is the Glasshouse. The Glasshouse is a 600-seat proscenium arch theatre, and includes a 100-seat studio, regional arts gallery, and conference & meeting spaces.

As Back-of-House (BoH) Operations Manager, you will be tasked with managing and coordinating the provision of technical equipment and services across all venues in the Glasshouse. Furthermore, you must ensure that productions are well-organised and that all audio/visual equipment is maintained to a high standard.

Council is particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals with significant experience in the events/venue management industry, and with a specialisation in at least one of the following: theatrical-lighting, staging & rigging equipment installation/operation or audio/visual operations. This role calls for an individual with asset management and leadership experience also.

The BoH Operations Manager is a permanent, full-time role, remunerated at Grade 15 in Council’s 21 Grade salary system, currently between $70,100 and $78,900 per annum, and works 35-hours per week under a nine-day fortnight arrangement. Due to the nature of the theatre and venue management industry, this role will be expected to carry out work after hours, and on weekends.
